Pair of Danish Art Deco Lounge Chairs in Birch & Shearling Lambswool, 1940s
A beautiful and sculptural pair of Danish Art Deco lounge chairs from the 1940s, featuring elegant curved birch details and generous upholstered forms.
The chairs feature compact, beautifully proportioned bodies with rounded backrests and broad armrests. Sculptural exposed birch elements follow the curve of the arms and continue down toward the feet, creating a warm contrast to the soft upholstery and giving the chairs their distinctive architectural character.
The chairs have been newly reupholstered in high-quality natural shearling lambswool, adding exceptional warmth, texture and comfort while complementing the golden tone of the birch. The combination of soft, rounded upholstery and exposed curved wood gives the pair a characteristic Scandinavian interpretation of Art Deco design.
With their generous proportions and strong sculptural presence, the chairs are equally decorative when viewed from the front, side or back.
This fine pair of lounge chairs will complement many interior styles. A Vintage, Antique, Classic, Scandinavian, Mid Century Modern, or an Art Deco home decor.
