An elegant rare Danish oak secretary cabinet in Baroque style, crafted in the 1930s by a skilled Danish Cabinetmaker. The piece features a drop-front writing surface that opens to reveal a richly functional interior with two shelves, eight small drawers, and a larger storage compartment – ideal for organizing documents, writing materials, or even as a discreet home office. This was crafted as a one of unit to a mansion in Hellerup, Copenhagen.
The owner had close connections to Axel Salto and was reportedly a writing desk - which had been highly sought after in artist circles The exterior showcases the grandeur of Baroque Revival design with bold proportions, a finely carved geometric trim framing the drop-front, and robust turned baluster legs joined by stretchers. The warm oak grain adds a timeless presence, while brass fittings provide a refined decorative accent.
