A small hand-carved African stool attributed to the Kamba (Akamba) people of Kenya, dating to the early–mid 20th century. The stool is crafted from solid wood and features the characteristic three-legged construction commonly found in traditional Kamba seating.
The circular seat is decorated with beadwork forming a stylized elephant motif, a decorative technique used by East African artisans to enrich otherwise simple wooden objects.
Compact in scale and sculptural in form, the piece functions equally well as a small stool, decorative object, or collectible example of African tribal craftsmanship.
