A beautiful and sculptural antique rocking armchair, made in Denmark in the early 1900s.
The chair features an elegant high backrest, gracefully curved wooden armrests and distinctive sculptural side supports. The rich reddish-brown stained frame has developed a beautiful natural patina, creating a striking contrast with the soft black lambswool upholstery on the seat and backrest.
Particularly beautiful is the unusual construction, with its sweeping, crescent-shaped wooden side elements resting above a low architectural base with four short turned legs. The combination of geometric lines, expressive curves and traditional craftsmanship gives the chair a distinctive Art Deco character.
This fine lounge chair will complement many interior styles. A Vintage, Antique, Classic, Scandinavian, Modern, or an Art Deco home decor.
