This sculptural Swedish 'Kubbstol' (Stump Chair) is carved from a single, massive birch trunk—an iconic example of traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship from the mid-20th century. The chair displays the natural beauty of birch in two striking expressions: the smooth, warm-toned interior shell, richly patterned with organic, flame-like markings, and the rugged exterior base, where the raw, pale wood retains the character of the original tree.

The seat is fitted with a light lambswool cushion that adds softness and comfort while highlighting the rustic presence of the solid wooden form. The contrast between the refined, hand-carved upper section and the untouched, naturally weathered base gives the piece an almost sculptural tension—at once primitive, elegant, and deeply tactile.
