Pair of Mid-Century Swedish Armchairs by Bruno Mathsson, Model "Eva", 1960s
A pair of iconic "Eva" lounge chairs designed by Bruno Mathsson and produced by Karl Mathsson, Sweden. First introduced in the 1930s, the Eva chair remains one of the most celebrated examples of Scandinavian functionalism and organic modern design.
These chairs were made in the 1960s. The chairs feature elegantly bent beechwood frames combined with handwoven saddle leather seats and backs, creating a lightweight yet highly comfortable construction. The woven leather develops a beautiful patina over time, enhancing the chairs' warmth and character.
Bruno Mathsson's innovative approach to ergonomics is evident throughout the design, with the gently reclining form naturally adapting to the body's contours. The combination of craftsmanship, comfort, and sculptural simplicity has made the Eva chair a lasting icon of Swedish design.
